SALINAS, Calif. — The Salinas City Council has appointed Jesus Valenzuela to fill the vacant District 3 seat following the resignation of Steve McShane. GILROY, Calif. - A student at a Gilroy high school was arrested for allegedly stabbing another student during a fight, authorities said. The incident occurred around 11:59 a.m. at Christopher High School, located at 850 Day Road, according to the Gilroy Police Department. The school district also confirmed the incident.

Salinas Police sort out multiple 911 call situation
SALINAS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Salinas Police arrested two people after sorting out a number of 911 calls that stemmed from a fight last Friday. At around 2 p.m., officers responded to a report of battery to a juvenile as he was walking home from Alisal High School. As the juvenile was walking, another male juvenile got out of a grey Dodge Charger when a fight ensued. Officers were able to get the license plate of the Charger the juvenile got out of.
