The six San Jose Sharks players at the 2024 IIHF World Championship are off to a slow start.

    Team USA

Will Smith and Luke Kunin are the two Sharks players who are repping the Red, White, & Blue. Kunin has one assist, while Smith has no points.

Smith has often been the 13th forward and has played limited ice time. Smith did get a small bump in the lineup against Slovakia as he was the center between Philadelphia Flyers winger Joel Farabee and Anaheim Ducks star Trevor Zegras.

    Team Germany

Nico Sturm played in one game for Germany but failed to register a point. Germany has played three overall and has a record of 1-2.

    Team Finland

Mikael Granlund is a staple of the Finland lineup. Although he hasn't scored a goal in three games so far, he has four assists. His four assists are tied for first in the tournament with eight other players.

Finland is 2-0-1 and is in second place in Group A.

    Team Sweden

Fabian Zetterlund is the only Sharks player on Sweden and hasn't scored a point in three games. Sweden started the round-robin against Team USA and beat them 5-2.

    Team Czechia

Jan Rutta is locking down the defense for Team Czechia. Like many of his other Sharks teammates at the tournament, Rutta has played three games and doesn't have a point. Rutta is the only defenseman from San Jose and isn't known as a highly offensive player.
