Prescription Drug Take Back Day list for drug take-back locations

(KRON) – Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The department also said the purpose of Drug Take Back Day is to educate the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Multiple drug take-back locations will be available on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The take-back Bay Area locations include:

San Francisco/Peninsula

• San Mateo Police Department, 229 West 20th Avenue, San Mateo
• San Bruno Police Department, 1177 Huntington Avenue, San Bruno

East Bay

• Emeryville Police Department, 2449 Powell Street, Emeryville
• Lafayette Police Department, 3471 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette
• MUIR Station, 1980 Muir Road, Maritnez
• Alameda County Sheriff's Office, 15001 Foothill Boulevard, San Leandro
• Hayward Police Department, 28270 Huntwod Avenue, Hayward

North Bay
