SF students are chronically absent in huge numbers—California must help
Children cannot learn if they miss school. While this may sound like an obvious statement, it’s one that bears repeating, as newly released data makes all too clear: Fully one-third of San Francisco students were chronically absent last school year, meaning these students missed 10% or more of the total days of instruction. That is a higher proportion of chronically absent students than the California statewide average of 25%, which itself is a high number, compared to the rest of the United States.
UC Davis responds to video of pro-Palestinian march through campus

P.E.O. awards scholarships to Novato and San Marin students
Seven outstanding young women graduating from Novato and San Marin High Schools this month have been awarded $1,000 scholarships by P.E.O. Chapter SS in Novato. Scholarships were awarded to Surabhi Chinta, Franccesca LaBou and Erlinda Sacche, who are graduating from Novato High School, and to Noela DeFrenza, Paige Grossi, Elizabeth Hayes and Kaylei Westen from San Marin High School. Their academic goals range from special education and nursing to psychology, environmental science and engineering.
