SAINT MARYS, Pa. (WTAJ) – A fight on North Michael Street in Saint Marys, Elk County has resulted in one man facing assault and weapons charges.

Just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday, an officer with the Saint Marys City Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Michael Street for reports of two individuals fighting in the street.

When he arrived on scene, he found one man who had redness and bruising around his eye. This man told the officer that as he was walking down the street, a man he identified as Beau James Azzato, 19, of Saint Marys, yelled profanities at him through the window of his vehicle, according to a criminal complaint.

Azzato then allegedly got out of his vehicle, charged at the victim and punched him in the head multiple times with brass knuckles. A passenger in the vehicle, who was not identified by police in the criminal complaint, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began to kick the victim.

The victim was taken to Penn Highlands Elk Emergency Room for injuries to his head that the officer said appeared to be from brass knuckles.

The incident was allegedly caught on city surveillance cameras and the officer said that the footage corroborated the story given to him by the victim.
