JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – Thousands of people are without power in the area as severe weather rolled through the region earlier.

Ameren reports more than 1,400 outages in Perry County as of 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Right now, in the St. Louis region, there are around 1,700 customers without power in Missouri and around 5,700 without power in Illinois.

One of the cities impacted was St. Genevieve, which experienced a major outage coinciding with their second tornado warning of the day. Places like restaurants, gas stations, and stop lights all experienced outages.
