ST. LOUIS – The Powerball jackpot has reached $800 million and local players have some big plans if they win.

“I definitely would travel…I probably would travel to Africa. That’s the number one place I want to visit,” Brandon Normal, one player, said.

This is the sixth-largest Powerball jackpot. Several already know what they’ll do if they have the winning numbers.

“I would probably buy land and just figure that out… just start a community or something,” Darline Dizon, player, said.

The winner will have to take federal and state taxes out of the winning money, but some say they don’t mind.

“Hey, with that kind of money. I wouldn’t argue about taxes. I don’t mind at all,” Alice B., player, said.

For those who don’t luck out on Monday night’s drawing, there is always the Mega Millions, which has reached an estimated $1.1 billion jackpot. A winner will be chosen Tuesday night.
