Police respond to Vermont school after threat of school shooting
PLAINFIELD, Vt. — Vermont State Police is trying to figure out who is behind an email that made reference to a future school shooting in Plainfield. Police got a call on Thursday morning from the Twinfield Union School after a faculty member at the school discovered an email from an unknown individual. The email mentioned a shooting at the school that would be carried out at a later date. According to their website, Twinfield Union School is a unique school that serves grades P-K to 12th in the communities of Plainfield and Marshfield.

On September 19, at 9:12 a.m., police responded to a report of a two-car accident with no injuries, at the intersection of S. Main St. and Wolcott St. Upon arrival, police located the cars in The Village Diner parking lot. The operators were out of the vehicles. A 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by Nathan Piangerelli, of Hardwick, was entering the intersection coming northbound turning onto Wolcott St. and was hit by a 2020 Honda Odyssey, operated by Bert Smith, of Hardwick, heading southbound on S.
