Due to movie filming in the Riverfront District, South 1st Street will be closed May 22 through the morning of May 25 from approximately 8 p.m. - 2 a.m. each day. This closure is from the Plaza Square intersection to Cowlitz Street.

Outdoor work includes actors portraying police, a bank robbery scene, and firearms. There will be no audible firearm noise during this time, according to the city. Movie filming in the St. Helens Riverfront District is currently taking place and will continue through June 7, 2024. Filming will take place during the day and at night. The Columbia County Chronicle & Chief have contacted production members of the film for details of the movie. It has been relayed that filming is for a "feature film," but no other details are available at this time. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.
