Authorities seize THC gummies, cannabis flower in raid on St. Cloud smoke shop

A smoke shop in St. Cloud was raided by police who say they seized over 32 lbs. of "illegal THC gummies" as well as a "significant amount of cannabis flower."

The St. Cloud Police Department says its Community Response Team was joined by city health inspectors and representatives of the Minnesota Department of Health Office of Medical Cannabis in executing a search warrant at Smoke N' Cloud at 2800 W. Division St. on the morning of May 17.

It comes after complaints of "suspected illegal cannabinoid products at the location."

"During the search warrant police seized over 32 pounds of illegal THC gummies," St. Cloud PD said. "The product seized ranged from 35 to 120 times over the legal limit per serving."

The cannabis flower found on site "was voluntarily destroyed on site for non-compliance," while MDH "seized and placed an embargo on several thousands of dollars of additional merchandise determined to be non-compliant with state law."

While Minnesota has legalized possession of marijuana in small quantities, full retail sale of the drug has not been formally implemented yet, and likely won't be until next year.

Currently the only dispensaries permitted to sell marijuana are found on tribal land.

THC products meanwhile are limited to 5mg per serving in Minnesota.
