Search underway in St. Cloud after man in body armor threatened neighbors with gun

A body armor-clad man threatened two of his neighbors with a firearm in St. Cloud before leaving the scene, police announced Friday.

The incident happened around 3:19 a.m. Friday, on the 1200 block of Kilian Blvd. SE. According to a news release, "two adult female victim residents" reported that "an adult male neighbor, whom they know, had threatened them with a handgun while wearing body armor."

The two women were not hurt, police say.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived, though he was located a few blocks away. Per the release, he approached officers and turned himself in without incident.

He allegedly told police the weapon used in the incident was a BB gun, though "he did not have it with him nor was he wearing any body armor."

Authorities are also asking neighbors to check their security cameras for footage of the suspect, who is described as a 6'2" white male, age 34, with a medium build and brown hair.

Police say he would have appeared between 3:15 a.m. and 3:40 a.m.
