ST. BONAVENTURE, NY — The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team finally inked its first commitment out of the transfer portal, signing Missouri State transfer Chance Moore.
A 6-foot-6 junior from Brookhaven, Georgia, Moore averaged 10.7 points and 5.3 rebounds last season with the Bears in the Missouri Valley Conference. He had five games scoring 20 points or more, including 24 against West Virginia.
Moore spent two seasons with Missouri State after starting his career at Arkansas. A four-star recruit, he joined the Razorbacks in 2021 as the only freshman and departed after one year. He played just five games.
Moore is expected to have two years of eligibility remaining. He joins returners Noel Brown, Miles Rose and Duane Thompson as scholarship athletes on the St. Bonaventure roster.
Other potential recruits have reportedly visited campus, including Panola College transfer Jonah Hinton, Iowa transfer Dasonte Bowen and Rutgers transfer Antwone Woodfolk. Hinton will announce his commitment on Friday.
Shortly after Moore committed to St. Bonaventure, former Bonnies guard Kyrell Luc pledged to Longwood for his final year of eligibility.
The Dorchester, Massachusetts, native played 24 games for St. Bonaventure last season, starting four. He averaged just 2.1 points after starting all 32 games as a sophomore. He began his career at Holy Cross, winning the Patriot League Rookie of the Year.
