New administration has plan to fix Burlington budget deficit
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington’s new city administration has ideas on how to fix the $13 million budget deficit. In a draft proposal, the administration has laid out several cost-saving measures to raise the $13.8 million to close the gap. This includes the voter-approved tax increase, using one-time ARPA funds, increasing the hotel tax and raising nonlodging gross receipts. All that along with rightsizing various programs and saving money with position vacancies, plus other tactics.
