SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A registered sex offender in Sacramento County is behind bars on new charges for soliciting sex with a minor. The intimidating encounter happened on May 9 when a 12-year-old girl who was waiting at a bus stop in Citrus Heights was approached by a man who asked her if she wanted to have sex with him.
Drunk driving suspected in deadly crash on Highway 16 in Sacramento County
SACRAMENTO COUNTY – Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash that killed a man near Rancho Murieta Tuesday evening, the California Highway Patrol said. The crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Highway 16 west of Murieta South Parkway. The CHP said a man was driving an Acura RDX west and was approaching a Toyota Corolla heading east. The driver of the Acura veered into the eastbound lane and collided with the Corolla.The Acura deflected off the car before colliding head-on with a Toyota Tacoma that was traveling behind the Corolla, killing the driver of the Acura. The two other drivers sustained minor to moderate injuries.Drunk driving is believed to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said.The eastbound lane was blocked for about three hours.
