How much rain fell in Sacramento this weekend? See what’s next for the weather

After being showered with rain over the weekend, Sacramento is heading into sunshine and warm temperatures.

Most of the Sacramento region saw less than an inch of rain from Friday to Sunday, according to data from the National Weather Service.

Sacramento International Airport recorded a rainfall total of 0.57 inches from Friday to Sunday morning.

Sacramento Executive Airport received 0.73 inches of rain, while Folsom recorded 0.76 and Rocklin got 0.64 inches.

Foothill Farms and Elk Grove received the most precipitation in the immediate area, with 0.82 and 0.86 inches, respectively.

How much snow did Sierra get?

About 2 to 7 inches of snow fell across the southern Cascades and northern Sierra, the National Weather Service said in a Sunday morning post on X, with “flurries and minor accumulations on grassy surfaces” down to around 2,500 to 3,000 feet.

During the 24-hour period from Saturday to Sunday morning, ski resort Sierra-at-Tahoe in Twin Bridges received a total of 1 inch of snow, as did Bear Valley Mountain Resort and Sugar Bowl Resort.

The communities of Lake Almanor West and Shingletown recorded the most snowfall at 7 inches.

What’s in the weather forecast for Sacramento?

The Sacramento Valley will see temperatures in the 70s to mid-80s this week, the National Weather Service posted on X.

Cool temperatures kick off the week on Monday , according to the weather service.

The high temperature will be near 68 degrees with sunny skies during the day, the agency said. The low will dip to 48 degrees on Monday night.

Sacramento residents can expect sunny skies all week as the warming trend continues.

On Tuesday, temperatures rise to 76 degrees with a low at night near 52 degrees.

Wednesday’s high is expected to be near 79 degrees, with a low near 54 degrees, while Thursday’s high will be near 80 with a low around 53.

On Friday, temperatures drop to 77 with a low around 50.

Highs for Saturday and Sunday will be near 76, the weather service said.
