Man goes missing in Sacramento River during family reunion
SACRAMENTO — Crews were searching for a man who went missing in the Sacramento River during a family reunion on Sunday.The Sacramento Fire Department said they had divers and watercraft in the river searching for the 20-year-old man near Sand Cove Park. A helicopter was also in the area assisting with the search from above.Officials say three people went into the water to recover a football when they all started to get pulled downstream. A bystander in a boat was able to rescue two, but the 20-year-old got pulled under the water.Rescue crews spent hours searching for the man but were unable to find him. Sacramento Fire said search efforts would continue until sundown.

All 11 people in Sacramento crash where 3 died are related, family says
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — All 11 people involved in aSacramento crash that left three dead were related, according to the family. The driver of the sedan carrying all 11 passengers, for reasons unknown, lost control and crashed into a tree, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Two women were in the car, one of them died at the scene, and another was seriously injured. The other nine passengers were children ages 3-8.

Multiple people were critically injured in a crash involving three vehicles on Saturday according to California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento division. Sacramento Metro Fire said that the crash at Bradshaw Road south of Jackson Highway required two to be transported to the hospital, and two other patients were released on the scene.

Suspect, 17, arrested in shooting that left Grant High student dead hours before graduation
SACRAMENTO – Detectives say they have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting that left a teenager dead hours before he was set to graduate from high school. On Saturday, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office announced that a 17-year-old boy had been arrested for the May 31 shooting in North Highlands. Billy Scott Jr. was in a car with two other people that night when someone shot into their car. The victims were able to drive away and were able to flag down an officer. Scott was rushed to the hospital, but he was later pronounced dead. Scott, 18, was set to graduate the next day from Grant Union High School. His father instead donned a cap and gown and walked in Scott's place. No other details about the suspect arrested have been released by the sheriff's office. No motive for the shooting has also been detailed.

Officials say they drove away from the scene toward Grant Union High School to flag down an officer for help. At graduation last night, Billy Scott Senior walked across the stage in a cap and gown, receiving a diploma on his son's behalf. His family says he had been looking forward to graduation night."I know that's what he wanted so bad, I was so proud to put on that cap and gown and represent him... because that's me," said Billy Scott Sr.

1 dead, 1 injured after being shot inside an apartment in Stockton Boulevard
SACRAMENTO -- One man is dead and another injured in an early morning shooting in Sacramento, said authorities. The shooting occurred early Thursday morning just before 6 a.m., in the 7400 block of Stockton Boulevard. According to a spokesperson from Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, both men knew each other and shot each other after getting into an argument inside an apartment. One of the victims, a 56-year-old man, was hit in the chest and eventually died at the hospital. The other victim, a 49-year-old man, was hit in the neck and is expected to recover from his injuries.Deputies say the 49-year-old man has been identified as Julian Brooks and he has now been arrested.

9 dogs rescued after going missing during a garage fire in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO -- Fire crews rescued nine dogs who went missing during a garage fire, said authorities. According to Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the fire broke out in a converted garage of a duplex. Upon arrival, fire crews put out the blaze and searched for victims. All occupants managed to get out safely, but nine dogs were reported missing. The dogs were eventually found, with seven being resuscitated with CPR and oxygen. One dog and her litter were sent to the vet clinic.
