A 64-year-old Biddeford man who was killed in a crash on Friday with a tractor trailer had had his license suspended for an adverse medical condition, according to police.

The crash, at the 500 block of Route 112 in Saco, was reported at 9:03 a.m. Friday. Based on witness statements and evidence gathered at the scene, police determined that a black Nissan Versa sedan was traveling west on Route 112 when it crossed the center line into the path of an eastbound Western Express semi-truck.

The driver of the car, Douglas Emmons, 64, of Biddeford, died as a result of the head-on collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“At the time of the crash, Mr. Emmons driver’s license was suspended for adverse medical condition,” the Saco Police Department said in a statement.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Christopher Thomas, 33, of Connecticut, was not injured, according to Saco police.
