BEAUMONT — All lanes of Interstate 10 East over Gulf, at the MLK exit in Beaumont, reopened as of 12:50 p.m. following a crash and hazmat spill. Crews had to clean up spilled fluid before the highway could reopen.

Tell TxDOT Your Texas Avenue Woes
For anyone who has muttered a curse word while stuck on Texas Avenue in Bridge City, they will have a chance to tell the state highway department what they think. Those comments can be made face-to-face with Texas Department of Transportation planners Wednesday, August 26, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Bridge City Community Center, 105 Parkside Drive off West Roundbunch Road. Comments will be open online, or by mail, through September 10.

Highway 87 reopens after overnight fire at business in Orange
ORANGE — An overnight industrial fire at Beckett & Beckett Inc. near the Orange County Airport prompted a temporary closure of Highway 87 early Tuesday morning. The fire was reported shortly before 1 a.m. at the company’s facility at 1740 Highway 87. Initial reports indicated the blaze may have started behind the facility, but the fire also spread to portions of the office area.
