Bulldogs rolling in accolades after claiming top conference seed

Ruston, La. (KTVE/KARD) — This week’s Bulldog Blitz sponsored by Jim Taylor Ford in Ruston focuses on the Louisiana Tech Diamond Dogs wrapping up the regular season on the best note possible with a sweep of Liberty and becoming the 2024 Conference USA Regular Season Champions.

The Bulldogs won 15 of their last 18 games and finished with 41 total wins in the regular season. They also secured the top conference seed going into the Conference USA championships, kicking off round one against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

The accolades are also beginning to roll in with five bulldogs finding their names on the all-conference first team including Dalton Davis, Cole McConnell, Luke Nichols, Sam Broderson and Ethan Bates. Bates was also rewarded for a historical season by being named the 2024 Conference USA Player of the Year, and Louisiana Tech Baseball Head Coach Lane Burroughs was also given the 2024 Co-Coach of the Year honor, sharing the award with Dallas Baptist Head coach Dan Heefner.
