Music therapy an important tool in recovery, officials say
The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs highlighted the importance of music therapy in our region Tuesday. It's part of the agency's tour of recovery houses in Carbon, Monroe and Pike counties. The agency's secretary toured recovery houses in Stroudsburg and Tobyhanna, two of 20 stops on the tour.
Black Bear Film Festival announces poster contest winner
The Black Bear Film Festival’s Board of Directors recently chose Laura Lippay’s poster design as the winner of its annual poster contest. In a statement, the Board described the design as an “eclectic, bold and colorful bear illustration.” The image will be used at the 2024 Black Bear Film Festival. Lippay is a local artist whose work can be seen at the Gamut Art Gallery of the Poconos and The ARTery Gallery in Milford.
