On May 19, 2023, a meeting was held with Commissioner Turley, Commissioner Pancratz, and Commissioner Goffena. The motion to approve the agenda and minutes from May 12, 2023, and April 20, 2023, respectively, were carried. The County Agent Solf reported black grass bug damage at the Musselshell Golden Valley line, and Sheriff Lesnik turned in his budget to CFO Kirk. They discussed budget issues and a pre-season fire training test to be held on May 20, 2023.

Proposed Water District: Final Public Meeting and Voting Eligibility Explained
On April 20, 2023, a meeting was held regarding a proposed water district. Present were Commissioners Turley, Pancratz, and Goffena, as well as County Attorney Larsen. Other attendees were listed on the sign-in sheet, and three individuals participated via Zoom.
Roundup Mesa Water District Established and Growth Concerns Addressed in May 5th, 2023 Commissioner Meeting
The meeting of May 5, 2023, was called to order by Commissioner Pancratz with Commissioner Goffena present and Commissioner Turley absent. The agenda and minutes from the previous meeting were approved. The Commissioners had a zoom meeting with Susan Hayes from GreatWest regarding the PER for the Roundup Mesa Subdivision. The boundaries for the proposed water district were established, and a resolution for the boundaries will be done once the PER paperwork is completed. All Commissioners attended a meeting with the residents of the Community regarding growth concerns of the area. The main concerns were water, road conditions, and incoming industry.

FWP News: Hunter education course scheduled in Roundup
BILLINGS – Registration is now open for an in-person hunter education course in Roundup. Orientation for the course will take place Monday, May 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Classroom instruction will be May 8 – 12, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The mandatory field day will be Saturday, May 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All events will take place at the Roundup Sportsmen’s Association. To receive certification, attendance is required at all classes and the Saturday field course.
