The Top 10 Most Dangerous Jobs In Montana
We've all heard the expression, "Well, someone has to do it, " which certainly rings true regarding dangerous jobs. There are plenty of openings for those looking for work in Montana. However, some of those opportunities are a little more dangerous than others. In fact, according to Forbes, the 10 Most Dangerous Jobs in America are all jobs you'll find available here in Montana.
The Legacy of Coach Bob Green continues to grow in the Mining City
It's hard not to notice Bob Green, especially when you're a student at Montana Tech. It was back in the fall of 1990 that I had signed up for Raquetball 101, satisfying my PE requirement. Bob Green was a few years into what would become a legendary career up there on the hill as Head Coach of the Oredigger Football Team and was the instructor of the class, just a few years prior to leading the team to the National Championship game. I figured that any head coach would not take the class very seriously or even notice if somebody skipped the class. But Bob Green is not just any head coach. Sure, he's the longest-tenured and winningest coach in Oredigger history, but there's so much more. If you are familiar with Coach Green, the first thing you notice is his commanding voice. We would hear it enthusiastically, echoing through the south staircase at the HPER, "RAQUETBALL CLASS!". He was there every day and although I never quite learned the skills necessary to beat my Mother in the game (give me a break, she won a state title in the 1980s), I saw Coach Green show up and teach the basics of a class he didn't have to give a rats behind about to a group of nonathletes he didn't really have to care about. The thing is, he did. That's the kind of person he is.
MSU Bobcats Drop Hype Video, UM Griz Fans Troll Instantly
HOWEVER...From one diehard Griz fan, I have discovered that many MSU Bobcat fans are delusional. They seem to think that the MSU fans and MSU Bobcat football experience is superior to others in NCAA football. They even went as far as to trick ESPN Gameday into visiting Bozeman. Meanwhile, all...
You Won’t Believe What Rich People are Putting in their Big Sky Homes
While average Montanans struggle to keep up with inflation, lousy wages, and big property tax increases, the wealthy continue to blow their millions on luxury homes in places like Big Sky and the Yellowstone Club. These extravagant, multi-million dollar homes (many of which remain largely unoccupied for most of the...
UM President Bodnar Presents His State of the University Address
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - One of the hallmarks of UM’s homecoming activities is the presentation of the ‘State of the University’ address by President Seth Bodnar. I spoke to the president just after the ceremony for a few of the most important messages in his address.
Wait A Minute, Was That Harrison Ford In Missoula?
Harrison Ford is well known for being a bit crotchety with fans, media or nerds. Back in 2020, Ford was asked a nerdy Star Wars question to which he replied... I love Star Wars but even I love how much Ford appears to hate the absolute hell out of it. I don't know if he's that salty or if it's a mask but it's hilarious. In fact, I once dated a lady from Jackson, Wyoming who said her dad hangs out with Harrison Ford. Her dad said his saltiness is real and just wants to be left alone... So I feel bad for writing this article, but he is in Missoula, allegedly. (I'm sorry, Harrison. Please forgive me.) Someone took to Reddit saying they saw Ford in Zoo Town.
Wyoming Carbon Capture Attempts Prove Useless
A project to suck CO2 out of thin air was recently cancelled in the state of Wyoming. In the meantime, Wyoming's Governor, along with the legislative body, have been working on projects to capture CO2 from the state's coal and natural gas power plants. All of this effort is due...
Morgan Wallen Writes a Bible Verse on Wall of Storm-Ravaged Home [Watch]
In the wake of Hurricane Helene's destructive path, Morgan Wallen is doing everything he can to hit affected areas in his home state. The singer recently made a trip to Greene County, Tenn. — just a couple hours north of hard-hit Asheville, N.C. — to visit with families affected by the storms. One of the homes he visited belongs to Stephen and Tallie Gregg, according to local radio station WGRV.
Major U.S. Company Increases Its Minimum Wage to $24 an Hour
This year, a few companies have gone ahead and increased their starting hourly pay rate for their employees. Aldi, Hobby Lobby and now you can add Bank of America to that list. Bank of America is the second largest banking establishment in America, and they are sharing their wealth with those who choose to clock in daily.
7 Wild Facts About McDonald’s Chicken Big Mac Sandwich
Ever wonder what they call the middle bun on a Big Mac?. There's a lot to the Big Mac and McDonald's newest menu item, the Chicken Big Mac. The traditional Big Mac is a burger with two all-beef patties, special sauce, pickle, lettuce, onion and cheese. The new version of the sandwich swaps out the beef for tempura-breaded chicken patties.
Bert Mooney adds United Express flight to Denver
Options for air travelers out of Butte's Bert Mooney Airport have recently been relatively slim as was noted at a recent community meeting regarding ways to improve overall service. Butte has recently had only service from one major airline with service to only one major regional air hub, the Delta Connection flights from Bert Mooney to Salt Lake City International Airport. Limited connectivity along with higher fares have led many travelers from Butte and surrounding Southwest Montana communities to seek service from airports in Bozeman, Helena and Missoula, much to the frustration of Bert Mooney officials and supporters. Yesterday, the Bert Mooney Airport announced a big move towards flexibility by adding an additional airline to a different hub.
FWP: Two More Montana Big Game Animals Killed, Left to Waste
Montana's general big game rifle season is on the horizon. And once again that horizon has been darkened. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is asking for help in their investigations of two more poaching incidents. Animals were shot and left to waste. One of the cases involves an appalling decapitation.

Friday Night (Not) Lights. CMR Defeats Skyview in the Dark
Skyview traveled up north to Great Falls to take on the CMR Rustlers last Friday night. They lost 9-15 in a game that featured ridiculous winds, blown lights, and 250 total yards. CMR started strong defensively, stopping the returning Camble Bjornstad (Sr) in the endzone for a 1-yard safety. Bjornstad...
Game of Thrones Trivia from Behind the Scenes
I had done Game of Thrones quite a few times for the Wednesday night players at the GrandStand Sports Bar. So when asked again, I tried a new wrinkle by using the trivia from the Internet Movie Database, or IMDb.com about things that happened behind the scenes. It made a sudden challenge for the die-hard fans of the show.
How Montana Can Help During ‘Blood Emergency’
Just when it appeared the Red Cross had survived a critical shortage of blood that developed this past summer, not one, but two hurricanes slammed into the Southeastern United States. That's prompted the Red Cross to declare a "blood emergency", asking residents here in Montana and in other states to...

What’s up with all the construction in Yellowstone?. It's not so hard to understand when you think of how many people, and heavy vehicles, drive through the park every year. With over 4.5 million visits to the park each year, our park roads and facilities receive a lot of wear and tear.
Remember When George Strait Made His One and Only Opry Appearance?
George Strait is one of the most successful and traditional-leaning country stars of all time, but incredibly, he has appeared on the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry just once in his entire career. The future country superstar debuted on the Opry stage on Oct. 9, 1982 — and...
Big Change Coming to Mountain Dew Cans
I can picture it now: someone in a PepsiCo boardroom during a marketing meeting had the idea, and another person banged the table, shouting:. Okay, maybe that didn't happen, but there’s a change coming to one of America's favorite carbonated beverages (I like to call it the "Juicy Fruit of sodas"). And it’s not about what's in the can, but what’s on the can.
