WSC begins year with updates from city officials
The Wednesday Study Club met on Sept. 13, at the D Brown Library with 17 members and guests present. President Pat Runcie introduced Librarian Kelly Hughes. She presented donations to the Memorial Room including the Drum Major Mace from Rosebud High School from David Ernst and an autograph memento book from David Evangelista. Hughes has used the Dollar General Grant along with WSC funds to purchase over 900 books this year. Forty new patrons have signed up to use the library facilities. The summer reading program was very successful, and the Marlin Agricultural Extension Agent presented programs on nutrition to the children. ...
Woman killed in officer-involved shooting
Temple (FOX 44/KWKT) — DPS Texas Rangers are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that took place overnight in Temple. Officers responded to a call about gunshots in the 500 block of N. 12th Street at 12:59 a.m. Sunday morning. They say they found a woman with a firearm at the scene, who then aimed a weapon at them.

Officers cleared in May shootout
Milam County law enforcement officers involved in a shootout that left a Cameron Police Sergeant and a suspect dead have been cleared by the Grand Jury. According to Milam County District Attorney Bill Torrey, the Grand Jury determined the four law enforcement officers were justified in using deadly force in their own self-defense during a shooting last May in Cameron.

Cameron, Tx (FOX 44) – A 21-year-old Waco man has been arrested in connection with an August 21 shooting in Cameron that sent two people to the hospital. Fredrick Bynum, Jr. was booked into the Milam County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.
