NORRISTOWN — A Berks County woman faces a combination of jail time, house arrest and probation for illegally purchasing firearms for a multi-county gun trafficking network. Makayla Prince, 24, of the 300 block of Sunset Road, West Reading, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 6 to 23 months in the county jail after she pleaded guilty to charges of corrupt organizations, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, making materially false written statements, illegal sale or transfer of firearms and conspiracy in connection with the gun trafficking network that operated in Montgomery, Berks, Bucks, Lancaster and Philadelphia counties between June 2019 and February 2021.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has identified an 81-year-old woman who died Sunday after a crash at a West Lampeter Township intersection. Sieglinde K. Arraignment Held for Columbia Man Accused of Strangling Girlfriend's Daughter. (Lancaster County, PA) -- A formal arraignment has been held for a Columbia man who is accused of raping and murdering a 12-year-old girl in February. Jason Shackelford, who is 39, received an indictment of the exact charges lodged against him that include felony rape of a child, strangulation and homicide. The charges were filed following the autopsy of 12-year-old Elaina Smith by the Lancaster County Coroner's Office, which confirmed she died of strangulation and had signs of sexual abuse. Elaina was the daughter of Shackelford's ex-girlfriend. He allegedly also tried to hide her body in a freezer.

(West Lampeter Township, PA) -- West Lampeter Township Police say an 81-year-old woman has died after a collision. It happened Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Eshelman Mill Road and Locust Lane a little after 5 p.m. The woman, who was from Delaware, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
