We have completed another important milestone on our path to merging with St. Augustine College. On Thursday, May 18, 2023 we submitted the Change of Control application to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). As outlined in their processes, HLC will now assign a review team to the merger proposal and will schedule a visit to be held in August or September. The visit will also include representatives from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).

On Thursday at approximately 6:00PM. LaSalle County deputies located an abandoned vehicle in the Otter Creek Township area. The vehicle is related to a missing person’s investigation from the Joliet Police Department. 63 year old Amos D. Morgan, of Joliet, was reported missing two weeks ago. Amos was last seen in the Streator area on May 10th.

The Illinois Lottery reports, one ticket matched all numbers on Friday, May 19th during the midday drawing. The winning jackpot numbers were 4-8-22-27-37. Sunshine Food Mart is located at 369 S. Budler Road which is just north of Airport Road and east of I-55 in Romeoville. The winning ticket is worth $1,050,000. According to the man who sold the ticket, it was not a quick pick ticket. A man chose the numbers and the winning ticket was purchased on Friday, May, 19th at 9:30 a.m. Unconfirmed reports to WJOL claim the man who bought the winning ticket is from Romeoville.
