ROMEOVILLE, Ill. (CBS) -- A police officer was shot during a foot chase early Thursday morning and the suspect is in custody, according to Illinois State Police.The shooting happened near the intersection of Sierra Trail and Summerfield Drive around 12:13 a.m.Romeoville police said officers found a vehicle that had been reported stolen. As they approached the vehicle to investigate, the suspect, Samer Hernandez, approached as well. Higher Learning Commission Application Submitted
We have completed another important milestone on our path to merging with St. Augustine College. On Thursday, May 18, 2023 we submitted the Change of Control application to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). As outlined in their processes, HLC will now assign a review team to the merger proposal and will schedule a visit to be held in August or September. The visit will also include representatives from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE).

The Romeoville Police Department offers a vacation check service for Village residents. When a resident goes away on vacation, a police officer can check their home up to three times per day to make sure it remains secure. A request form must be completed, signed and returned to the Police Department prior to departure. You may pick up the request form at the Police Department, 1050 W. Missing Person being sought
On Thursday at approximately 6:00PM. LaSalle County deputies located an abandoned vehicle in the Otter Creek Township area. The vehicle is related to a missing person’s investigation from the Joliet Police Department. 63 year old Amos D. Morgan, of Joliet, was reported missing two weeks ago. Amos was last seen in the Streator area on May 10th.

CHICAGO — A Joliet woman admitted in federal court that she used a series of threats and intimidation to exploit an elderly man out of more than $1.6 million. Lee Turner, also known as Ashley Turner, 40, was found guilty Wednesday of using a facility of interstate commerce to promote and carry on unlawful activity, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
