Peoria woman pleads guilty to reduced murder charge for killing boyfriend
PEORIA (25News Now) - A Peoria woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the stabbing death of her boyfriend last year. Heaven Kruzan, 23, faces a minimum of four years in prison up to a maximum of 20 years behind bars for killing Lamario Billups, 34, who was found with a stab wound to the chest at a home on South Stanley Street on March 8, 2023.
Ongoing conflict between two groups linked to death of Peoria High basketball star
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The recent deadly shooting that claimed the life of a former Peoria High School basketball star was related to an ongoing dispute between two groups. In fact, Assistant State’s Attorney Terry Muench told Peoria County Judge Mark Gilles that several of the recent shootings including one in Chillicothe that left a person with a gunshot wound in the head were related to the ongoing war between the two groups.
