Shots fired near Raleigh apartment complex, police say
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Investigators are working to find out who fired shots near a Raleigh apartment building Thursday, according to the Raleigh Police Department. At about 3 p.m., officers said they were called to Summerkings Court off of North King Charles Road in Raleigh regarding a shots fired.
NC Turnpike Authority breaks ground on final piece of 540 project
GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — This June, leaders with the North Carolina Turnpike Authority said significant construction will be underway. A crowd gathered in Garner Thursday afternoon that included representatives from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Turnpike Authority to celebrate the groundbreaking for the second and final phase to complete the outer 540 loop around the greater Raleigh area.
