Class will teach cane pole fishing techniques
Young anglers are invited to learn the skills needed for cane pole fishing during an upcoming class at David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone. The class will be held at the Homestead Cabin on Saturday, May 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. Host for the class will be Park Ranger Thomas Batchelor.

KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Aquatic Center will host a sunset swim event at the outdoor lap pool on May 31 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The event will be limited to 200 people and online pre-registration is encouraged. The Hawkins County Commission will be asked on June 24 to approve the 2024-25 fiscal year budget with a 34.67 cent property tax increase.
