    Rogers: Gas leaks, entrapments, road closures across town

    UPDATE: Rogers police say the area of 24th Street and Walnut is closed. Barrels and caution tape are up and police say to not cross the barricades.

    ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — UPDATE: Rogers police say there are officers out setting up traffic barrels blocking streets.

    “If you are out and about and come up on a barrel please do not drive around it. The road is closed for power lines or trees blocking the road,” Rogers police said in a Facebook post .

    Benton County says Black Hills Energy technicians have been mobilizing and responding to leak calls.

    If customers smell natural gas, leave home immediately and call 911, then call Black Hills’ emergency service line at 888-890-5554 from a neighbor’s home or from a cellphone away from the home. Customers are advised not to use the phone inside the home.


    ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — UPDATE: Rogers has not reported any serious injuries. Officials have closed roads that map can be found on the Benton County website.

    Police said that multiple gas leaks have been reported across town. They also said that they have calls of entrapments across town.

    Day shift officers have started coming in to help with calls.

    People who are calling in with non-emergency calls such as power outages are being pushed down the queue. Police are helping people in hazardous situations at this time.
