Powell 'workout-about' sparks jokes and concern in social media group with around 4,000 members
POWELL, Tenn. — For some people in Powell, the reasoning behind one particular project is still tough to navigate. A new roundabout in Powell was originally intended to address traffic concerns and improve the area's infrastructure but is now the focus of a large social media group's jabs and jeers. It is located near Crowne College and Temple Baptist Church, and cost the county around $3.2 million. Work recently finished on it, and crews unveiled an unexpected twist — workout equipment.

Report finds average rent in Knoxville is $1,448 per month
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Housing prices continued increasing across East Tennessee over the spring, according to a new report by the East Tennessee REALTORS group. It said the median home sale price in the Knoxville area was around $354,450 in April, up by around 10% compared to the previous year. It also said East Tennessee home sales increased by 14% compared to the previous month, and half of the homes sold were under contract within 16 days or less.
