Man, 33, found shot in left leg

Police are investigating a case of a man struck by gunfire in the early morning hours Wednesday. Police said the man left the scene of the shooting and was located a significant distance away.

Quinton Carr, 33, was found in the 2700 block of Deer Run, which is northeast of the city, with a gunshot wound to his left leg, police said.

Officers shortly after midnight first responded to the 600 block of South Tillery Street in the Cedar Brook area, which southwest of downtown, regarding a call about a shooting with injury, police said.

In the preliminary investigation, police said that Carr contacted the 911 dispatcher and reported his location.

Firefighters and emergency medical services personnel responded and took Carr to UNC Health Nash.

Police said that upon further investigation what happened to Carr is believed to have been in connection with a domestic dispute between family members.

Police said that the police department’s major crimes unit consulted with the District Attorney’s Office and that no charges will be filed at this time.
