Rockingham County man arrested for kidnapping after refusing to return date home
Rockingham County deputies said they arrested Garrett Wheeler,44, on Second Degree Kidnapping and False Imprisonment charges. They said he went on a date with a female victim, but then he refused to return her home. Deputies said they drove for several miles and then the woman called 911 from her cell phone. Deputies said they pulled his vehicle over at the Reidsville Walmart. Deputies said the victim quickly exited the car. Investigators said Wheeler had drove with his victim for twelve miles. He is now in custody at the Rockingham County Jail.
