Hotel and restaurant staff battle it out at SKYHA Hospitality Olympics
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Sloan Convention Center, hotel and restaurant staff cut loose and got competitive as part of their annual tradition. News 40 stopped by the center to watch all the games played and laughs exchanged as the Southern Kentucky Hospitality Association held their annual Olympic games centered around things that hospitality workers do every day. The station spoke briefly to past president, Michael Nunn, who said it’s something people look forward to every year.

WKU football scheduled to kick-off season on ESPN
WKU football is going primetime. The team announced today that the Hilltoppers’ season opener at Alabama on August 28 will kickoff at 6 pm CT and is set to be aired on ESPN. WKU will look to take its first win against the Crimson Tide in what will be the fourth contest between the two. WKU sits at 0-3 against Alabama, with the last loss coming in 2016.
Liberty walks off Western Kentucky, claims first CUSA title
LAS CRUCES, NM (WSET) — After falling in their Conference USA tournament opener, Liberty University Softball had only one thing left to do. That's what redshirt freshman Savannah Jessee did in the 9th inning, driving a double to the wall in left center field, driving in Megan Fortner to lift the No. 1-seeded Liberty University Softball team to a 4-3 victory over No. 2 Western Kentucky in Saturday’s Conference USA Championship title game at New Mexico State Softball Complex. The win clinched the Flames their fourth consecutive conference tournament title and first in CUSA.

Fuller improves score in second day of NCAA Regional
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – WKU Grad student Luke Fuller finished up his second day of the NCAA Regional Tuesday afternoon. Fuller posted a 4-over 76 at the Kampen Course on Tuesday afternoon. The Kentucky native shaved two strokes off of his first-round score. He currently sits in 65th heading into tomorrow’s final round.
