ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Rochester fell just short of 90° only peaking at 89° ahead of storms earlier today. So close to hitting two big temperature milestones in one week but oh well we got the 80s at least. The remainder of Wednesday will be hallmarked by a few more showers and a few elevated storms especially west of Rochester as the cold front passes.

An isolated shower is possible very early Thursday morning but otherwise we are good to go into the second to last day before the long weekend. Skies will clear out as Thursday progresses leaving us mostly sunny into the afternoon hours. Highs will peak in the upper 70s for most, a bit warmer than normal for this time of year but cooler in comparison to earlier this week.

Friday the dry weather continues with abundant sunshine through much of the day. This will be a really nice way to cap off what was a bit of a chaotic week in some respects weather wise. Highs will generally sit into the mid and upper 70s.

Into Memorial Day Weekend there’s good and not so good news for the weather. Good news is, we’ll be in the upper 70s and low 80s through most of the weekend. Not so good is the chance for rain on Saturday, and the risk of some storms on Memorial Day itself. Saturday is far from a washout but we’ll have to watch for the risk of a few showers and storms into the afternoon as a cold front sweeps through the region. Monday rain and storms look potentially more widespread.

Long story short, Saturday’s not a washout and don’t cancel your plans for Monday just yet, but consider an alternate just in case. There’s room for adjustment in the coming days so stay tuned.

Later into the week rain chances remain through next Thursday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s returning.
