Murder plot investigation leads to arrest of convicted rapist, girlfriend, and minor

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A convicted rapist, his girlfriend, and a 16-year-old were arrested after troopers discovered a murder plot involving a judge and a prosecutor.

Back in March, the Ontario County DA’s Office received information that an incarcerated individual — 21-year-old Alexander Kise — allegedly made threats to kill the lead prosecutor and the judge presiding over his conviction.

Investigators said Kise and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Alydia Gater, conspired with a third party to murder the judge and the assistant DA. In addition, it was alleged they also plotted to kill the victim in his sex abuse case.

On April 21, Gater allegedly met with an individual in a Victor parking lot to negotiate a deal for the murder. That person was an undercover officer, who said Gater used drugs to pay for the deal — $1,750 worth of Xanax.

“This strikes at the heart and this is terrifying to the people who did this job on a regular basis,” said Ontario County DA James Ritts. “At a time where we’re vilifying police officers and we’re vilifying prosecutors to have this type of behavior really has an impact on our well-being.”

Gater and Kise were arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and second-degree conspiracy. They were taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

Troopers also say a 16-year-old was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree conspiracy. She was taken to Ontario County Court for arraignment. Details about this individual have not been revealed.

Kise was already convicted on rape and sexual assault charges for holding a woman captive and sexually assaulting her in June 2022.

The New York State Police are asking anyone with more information on the two suspects to call 911.
