IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — In a defensive battle, the Athena flag football team held on for a 4-0 win over Eastridge. It’s the third shutout win for Athena this season.

The final score would have been a scorigami in the NFL meaning that scoring combination has never happened in history. A 4-0 final score has only happened once since 1908 in college football history.

The Trojans led 2-0 at the break after recording a safety with 2:23 left in the first half. Early on in the second half, Emily McMichael plucked a flag in Eastridge’s own end zone to get another safety.

Next up for Athena (6-1) is a home game against Northeast on Wednesday, April 24th. Eastridge (1-5-1) will look to get back on track against Brockport the same night.
