ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Shortsville man on Sunday.

According to OCSO, on April 21, 29-year-old Kyle Baker was arrested for robbery in the second degree following an investigation into a stolen vehicle complaint out of the town of Manchester. Deputies responded to Water Street in the Village of Shortsville after Baker allegedly used physical force to steal a victim’s motor vehicle while they were parked.

Deputies said Baker was later spotted in the Village of Clifton Springs where he engaged in a short pursuit before abandoning the stolen vehicle to flee on foot. New York State Police got involved and while attempting to arrest Baker, a Trooper and OCSO Deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries that they were treated for at Clifton Springs Hospital.

OCSO said Baker was transported to Ontario County Jail to be held on pre-arraignment detention until the next CAP Court Proceeding. Deputies said Baker will appear before Manchester Town Court at a later date and additional charges are pending.
