Moore County man charged for having meth, sheriff says
ROBBINS, N.C. (WNCN) — A Moore County man was arrested on Thursday for having methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office. On Thursday, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Moore County Probation and Parole with searching a residence in the 200 block of Jim Road in Robbins.
Moore County high school student killed in crash
A Moore County high school student was killed Tuesday in a rollover crash on Youngs Road in Vass. Around 8 a.m., the State Highway Patrol said the driver of a Honda Civic was traveling at a high rate of speed, when he lost control on a curve and crashed. Carthage Commissioners meet for budget review
The Carthage Board of Commissioners met on Wednesday to discuss plans regarding current and future projects, the fire department, and the town’s budget. Carthage Fire Chief Bryan Tyner joined the meeting to discuss approval for the fire department to begin “specking out” future trucks for its fleet.
DOT projects to begin in summer
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has several projects that will begin in the summer that will impact Moore County. Below are the major projects:. N.C. 211 from U.S. 15-501 — Road widening is planned on N.C. 211 from U.S. 15-501 in Aberdeen to Mockingbird Hill Road in Raeford. It will expand the route to a four-lane divided road. Work is wrapping up to acquire right of way, clear roadsides and move dry utilities. The road work is scheduled for the fall and is estimated to take multiple years to complete as it involves 16 miles of roadway.
