The following is a portion of a letter recently sent to 1st Selectman Todd Carusillo:. I am writing to express deep disappointment in the decision to again rapidly pursue development of 190 Sharon Turnpike when you had, less than two weeks ago, told the public that you were going to build behind the firehouse. Prior to that you were going to put up storage at the existing public works. Both of those options were favorable to the public. Why would you not complete an unbiased needs assessment and use our existing locations in accordance with the POCD?
Bomb threat forces evacuation of school in Bloomfield
A magnet school in Bloomfield was evacuated Friday morning due to a bomb threat, according to police. Officers responded to the Global Experience Magnet School on South Griffin Road around 8:15 a.m. after school security noticed some graffiti in a bathroom that was percieved as a bomb threat, police said.
Woodridge Green-Lights Speed Humps
On April 27th the Board of Directors of the Woodridge Lake Property Owners’ Association (WLPOA) voted to approve a plan for installing speed humps on Town roads in 3 locations within the community. The plan represented months of research and collaboration between the Woodridge Lake Safety Committee (WLSC) and 1st Selectman Todd Carusillo.

NOTICE TO PUBLIC – TOWN MEETING, BUDGET, MAY 29, 2024 AT GOSHEN CENTER SCHOOL AT 8:00 PM. 1st Selectman Todd Carusillo requested a needs assessment from the Public Works Department and Goshen Fire Company for their proposed new storage addition to the back of the Fire Department building. If a needs assessment is not received, the selectmen will have to create a needs assessment task force for the proposal. (Note: The Fire Co. has since advised that they already provided a needs assessment in January and presented it at a Selectmen’s meeting on May 7th).
CT town unleashes Japanese Lady beetles to save hemlock trees
SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) - Japanese Lady beetles were released across Simsbury as a means to save hemlock trees. Town officials, in conjunction with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and a number of other local environmental groups, on Tuesday released the beetles at the Town Forest Park, Ethel Walker Woods, Darling Hills, and Belden Forest.
