Single-vehicle crash in Hermon sends one man to hospital
HERMON -- A dump truck rolled off of Newburgh Road in Hermon just before 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17th. According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office Deputy on the scene, the sole occupant of the dump truck was transported to a nearby hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

ABBOT — For a decade and a half Atlantic salmon have been an endangered species in many Maine waterways. To help bring the numbers back up, state and federal agencies have been reintroducing young salmon in various rivers and streams. This includes Kingsbury Stream in Abbot, which flows into the Piscataquis River.

FREEPORT — Five women from the GFWC Miosac Club in Dover-Foxcroft attended the General Federation of Women’s Clubs Maine Spring Convention at the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport May 9-10. Attending were members Suzanne Raymond, who is GFWC Miosac Club treasurer, GFWC Maine president-elect, and serves on the GFWC New England Region Resolutions Committee. Anne Cress is the GFWC Maine corresponding secretary, acting state necrologist and GFWC Maine interim parliamentary advisor. Both women are past GFWC Miosac Club presidents and past GFWC Maine state presidents.

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Last fall the Dover-Foxcroft Select Board began the process to rectify a pair of deteriorating properties at 70 Union Street and 130 Pleasant Street.
