Henry County SWAT Team finds 17 illegal guns, narcotics while serving warrant, two men charged

HENRY COUNTY, Va. ( WFXR ) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office says two men are facing several drug charges after the SWAT Team searched a mobile home in Ridgeway on March 26.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the SWAT Team served a narcotics search warrant in the 1100 block of Joppa Road. During the search, authorities found a man in the home and another man in the camper.

As the search continued, law enforcement discovered 17 illegally possessed guns, suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, and a large amount of ammunition. The sheriff’s office says authorities also found evidence consistent with narcotics distribution.

As a result, two Ridgeway men, 43-year-old Joshua Chad Cox and 70-year-old Warren Doty Clark were arrested.

Cox is being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond on the following charges:

• Possession of Schedule I or II Drugs (Methamphetamine)
• Possession of a Firearm while in possession of Scheduled I or II Drug
• Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon
• Possession of a Saw-off Shotgun
• Maintaining a Fortified Drug House
• Possession of Ammunition by Convicted Felon

Clark was charged with:

• Possession of Scheduled I or II Drugs (Fentanyl)
• Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Schedule I or II Drugs

He is being held at the detention center on a $5,000 secured bond.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.
