Lolo Jones headlines FCA banquet

RIDGEDALE, Mo–Hundreds of high school athletes and coaches gathered at Big Cedar Lodge Thursday night for the South Central Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet.

FCA naming it’s athlete and coach of the year.

And the guest speaker at the banquet was three-time Olympian Lolo Jones.

Lolo ran track in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London games.

And then transitioned to the bobsled in the 2014 winter games in Sochi, Russia.

Before she spoke, FCA named Aiden Estes from Blue Eye as the male athlete of the year.

Ava’s Mallory Melton was female athlete of the year.

And West Plains Austin Riggs was coach of the year.

Lolo Jones says that her relationship with God helped her get through the stressful ups and downs of international competition.

“It’s actually where I can tell the truth on what has gone on behind the scenes of the Olympics. Olympic losses and World Championship wins. And not just the physicality. But the spiritual side of that. Because the spiritual side is really what has given me the energy to have the successes. And to get over every obstacle in my life,” said Jones.
