Person arrested at Altria Theater in Richmond during Chelsea Handler comedy show

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A person was arrested during a Friday night comedy show at the Altria Theater in Richmond, according to police.

The Richmond Police Department responded to a request for additional officers at the Altria Theater, located at 6 North Laurel St., at around 8:22 p.m. on Friday, April 19.

Police said officers arrested one person at the theater. The incident took place during a performance by comedian Chelsea Handler which began around 7 p.m. Friday, police did not say whether the person arrested was an audience member.

This incident took place just two weeks after audience members at the Altria for a showing of the Tina Turner Musical evacuated after the fire alarm was triggered due to a sprinkler malfunction, causing the show to be cancelled for the night.
