‘Art in the Park’ sessions start June 13
For the third consecutive summer, the popular “Art in the Park” program will take place once again in St. Joseph for children in the city and surrounding area. The program is a fun, free and creative activity for children ages 3 up through elementary-school ages. The art gatherings take place from 9-11 a.m. at a rotating list of three St. Joseph parks.

Art exhibit gives loving homage to trees
Tree huggers will likely love an art show now on exhibit at the Paramount Center for the Performing Arts in downtown St. Cloud. The exhibition, entitled “Among Trees,” features the works of award-winning Sartell photographer Carol Weiler and two St. Cloud women – fiber artist Jeri Olson McCoy and fiber-and-encaustic artist Donna Kuhl.
Former council member Lynch files for election
Former Sartell City Council member Pat Lynch has decided to file as a candidate for the council once again in this year’s election, Nov. 5. He informed the Newsleaders about his intention to file in mid-May, before the opening filing date of May 21. The last date for filing was June 3. Since that date was after the Newsleaders stories’ deadline, a story about any and all candidates who filed by June 3 will be in the next Newsleaders, June 21.
Grant offers legal services to seniors
The St. Cloud office of Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid has received a grant of Older Americans Act funds from the Central Minnesota Council on Aging to provide legal services for seniors residing in Wright County. Flyers earn come-from-behind section semifinals win
The Little Falls Flyers baseball team beat Rocori 10-5 in a wild section semifinals game at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud Tuesday, May 4, punching a ticket to the Section 8AAA Championship. The game started out with a strong first inning with Rocori earning four runs, two of them being scored on a passed ball. The Flyers’ answered at the bottom of the first.
