The kick off of the Rice Lake Public Library’s summer reading program is starting June 1, with something for everyone of all ages. The Rice Lake Fortnightly Club has donated $1,000 for this kick-off program.

The Readapalooza event, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, will encourage sign-ups for the summer reading program. Participants will get a “Passport to Adventure,” where they can mark down each day that they read during the summer to earn free books, a Super Reader yard sign, and a chance to win grand prizes at the end of the summer.

The Readapalooza event will also have a bouncy house, a sweet treat, a free book for children who attend, and a craft. Crafts this year include rock art and a DIY wooden necklace.
