Platteville aquatic center to remain closed this summer, future uncertain
PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin (KCRG) - The future of the Platteville Family Aquatic Center is uncertain as it is expected to remain closed this summer, city leaders said Wednesday. City leaders said the pool, which has served the community for more than 80 years, can’t circulate water and it poses hazardous safety concerns with deteriorating walls.

Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrests three people on drug related charges after traffic stop
According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, May 7, at approximately 9:53 p.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that a traffic stop on US Highway 61 in the Township of Marietta. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Geramia Swadley, 43, of Soldiers Grove, Wis. and his passengers as Jourdan Womack, 28, and Corben Eck, 21, of Platteville, Wis.
Scales Mound, Ill., resident arrested after standoff in Jo Daviess County
A 28-year-old Scales Mound, Ill., resident was taken into custody Saturday after a standoff with law enforcement, a news release says. Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jo Daviess County Deputies learned that Jesse J. Jones, a wanted felon, was at an address on West Blackjack Road in rural Hanover, Ill., the release says.
