DCS unveils new brand across 11 elementary schools
DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Students at every elementary school in the Dothan City School system got treated to a pep rally on Friday. WDHN News joined the cheer squad and pep band at Heard Elementary, where school officials put down the old logo of a husky and unveiled their new mascot of a wolf pup.
Dothan Police investigating Westgate Village shooting
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - On Thursday night, Dothan Police officers responded to emergency calls reporting a man had been shot at the Westgate Village apartment complex. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound in his chest. The officers quickly applied a “chest seal” to stabilize the victim, DPD said in a statement.

Shellie Pascoe, a Dothan woman who works on Fort Novosel as a Physical Therapist, had a rare double uterus pregnancy with a fetus in each. Spring concert coming up for the Wiregrass Community Band
Dothan, AL (WDHN) – The Wiregrass Community Band will take the stage soon for their spring concert that features several songs dedicated to a man with local roots. Sunday, April 28th at 3pm in the Covenant Methodist Church Sanctuary the band will perform a variety of marches and several compositions by the late Robert W. Smith. Smith played trumpet in the band at Daleville High School before attending Troy University and was on the staff there before his death in 2023. Smith composed and directed the Orlando Magic Drum and Bugle Corp. He also composed over 100 pieces of work for junior and high school bands.
