REEDSVILLE, W.Va. (WBOY) — Deputies found a large amount of meth and cocaine while responding to a call of a woman being passed out in a running vehicle in Preston County.

On May 8, deputies with the Preston County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Brown’s Mill Propane in Reedsville for a call of a woman “passed out and the vehicle was currently running and in gear,” according to a criminal complaint.

When deputies arrived, they confirmed the vehicle was running and “in reverse” gear with the female driver, identified as Crystal Saltsman, 38, of Morgantown; a plastic bag and “device common with smoking controlled substances” were visible between her legs, deputies said.

After deputies woke her up, Saltsman handed deputies the bag, which contained “a white chunky substance consistent with cocaine,” according to the complaint.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found 67.47 grams of methamphetamine, 12.16 grams of cocaine, some of which tested positive with “traces of fentanyl,” two sets of digital scales, a “loaded syringe” with presumed heroin and packaging material, deputies said.

Saltsman has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. She is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $100,000 bond.
