TCAD to host hands-only CPR class
The Rotary Club of Hollister and Taney County Ambulance District invite the public to learn to save lives through a free hands-only CPR class, hosted on June 20. The hands-only class will take place at 9 a.m. at 106 Industrial Park Drive in Hollister, and will last about an hour. According to a bulletin from the Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce, about 40 people each hour have a cardiac arrest while not in the hospital, totaling about 350,000 a year. Nine out of ten of those individuals will not survive.

Maci Montgomery, of Aurora, has been named to the Southeast Missouri State University Dean’s List for academic achievement during the spring 2024 semester. Students named to the list earned at least a 3.75 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, completed at least 12 hours of standard graded credit, achieved no grade below a B and received no failing grades in enrolled, credit/no credit or pass/fail courses.

Joseph Elledge files motion for new trial, cites ineffective counsel
A man who was convicted of second-degree murder in November 2022 filed a motion for a new trial on Monday. Joseph Elledge, 28, was sentenced to 28 years in prison following a 10-day trial for killing his wife, Mengqi Ji. ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KY3) -The St. Louis Police Department is working with Branson Police after a deadly shooting. On Sunday morning, police were called to Washington and 16th Street in downtown for a man shot in the head. Kimberling City police cruiser photo wins contest
The Kimberling City Police Department Police has won a photo contest for a photo of their police cruiser. The Kimberling City Police Chief Todd Lemoine took and entered a photo of their cruiser in the Police Cruiser Image Database Facebook page photo contest. With over 100 entries from all over the country, the contest was very competitive. In the final round the photo was up against more than 40 photos submitted from other police departments. The winner of the contest was determined by Facebook likes. The Kimberling City photo received 187 votes.
Tony’s Place in Nixa reopens after family tragedy
NIXA, Mo. (KY3) - A family restaurant in Nixa reopened after a tragedy closed the doors for weeks. Tony’s Place closed after a house explosion killed four members of Tony’s family in neighboring Douglas County. Investigators say a propane leak caused the May 18 explosion in Goodhope. The blast killed Tony’s brother and his family.
