HOOVER, Ala. – After a heartbreaking loss on Thursday night, the South Carolina baseball team will try and bounce back on Friday afternoon in an elimination game. The Gamecocks will take on SEC champions Kentucky in a win-or-go-home game at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium. First pitch between the two teams is set for 4 p.m. with broadcast coverage on the SEC Network. South Carolina will start right-handed pitcher Dylan Eskew, who pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings against the Wildcats at Founders Park to take the series earlier this season.

Covington County unemployment decreases to 2.9 percent in April
Covington County’s unemployment rate for April 2024 decreased from the prior month while increasing year over year, according to the Alabama Department of Labor. The priliminary, non-seasonlly adjusted unemployment rate in Covington County for April was 2.9 percent, down from March’s rate of 3.5 percent. It is up from April 2023’s rate of 2 percent.
